Unfortunately, a summer heat wave pretty much melted the legs off the sculpture. I tried rebuilding it, but the armature wasn't secure, so and I had to strip all the clay off and start over.
I begin summer school soon, and won't be able to progress until after August 6th.
Florence + the Machine's music, to me, has come to symbolize the pursuit of your dreams, strength of character, and hard work paying off. I'm sculpting Florence Welch in addition to being a full time art student and part time art instructor. I traveled 2 hours to San Francisco to sculpt for 8-10 hours in one day, costing me a little over $60 a week in travel expenses for an entire semester. The goal is to have the sculpture cast in bronze by April 25, 2015, my birthday.
